Sales Experience
In order to gain sales experience, have a better understanding of the dynamics of sales and the online sales. Couple of months ago I imported some goods. Than built a website to sell the products online. I gave different characters to each model, and tried to implement the Brand Image I created to the products on the website.
In Turkey “buying online” still is not the most prefered way to buy products. People do not trust websites, especially the new ones. So I came up with the idea to sell the goods also in an ebay-like, known Turkish website gittigidiyor.com. That way people could buy the products by giving their credit card numbers to a trusted website instead of a newly built website. This system helped us to gain trust of our potential customers and they started to buy products with money order which is more profitable.
This attempt was not focused only on earning profits. In fact the real aim was gaining experience about sales. Also managing the brand and the products was a very enjoyable experience for me. I had the chance to observe the importance of price elasticity in terms of increasing the volume of sales. It was fun and thought me a lot of things about sales.
